Keyword Placement in URL

Q:  How does the position of keywords in my URL affect my ranking, if at all?

A:  While I would definitely place keywords in the URL whenever possible, where they are placed is not as critical as the use of them. Your site should focus more on compelling content rather than being too spammy. If you are going to use keywords in the url, do something like this:

URL for a website about Painting Services:

• PaintingServices.com
• Pages Within Site might be:
• PaintingServices.com/Interior-Painting
• PaintingServices.com/Exterior-Painting
• Painting Services.com/Deck-Staining
